Claire Brooks is a creative producer and storyteller whose work champions emerging voices and ambitious, craft-driven filmmaking. She produced Titus Kaphar’s directorial debut Exhibiting Forgiveness, which premiered at Sundance 2024 and received six NAACP Award nominations. Her producing credits also include Ruth Du’s indie feature Samson, Netflix’s Dog Gone, and the launch of Netflix’s Emerging Filmmaker Initiative, where she produced short films by Ashley Eakin, Hebru Brantley, Marielle Woods, and Matt Castellanos.
Prior to her current role, Claire served as Director of Production at Homegrown Pictures, where she oversaw two first-look deals with WBTV and Fifth Season and managed a film and television slate of more than twelve projects, including the development of Otis and Zelma, directed by Channing Godfrey Peoples and starring Danielle Deadwyler and John Boyega.
She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Film, Storytelling & The Global Imagination) from NYU Gallatin and an M.F.A. in Creative Producing from Columbia University. Claire is a Women in Film Producing Fellow (2025–2026), has served on the SXSW Independent TV Pilot Jury (2025), and contributed to multiple Gotham Media committees, including the Documentary Development Initiative and Gotham Week.
She currently serves as Executive Director of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), where she leads global strategy around film-friendly infrastructure, creative-economy development, and cross-sector partnerships.
