About the Speaker
Georgina has been producing film, and providing production services for overseas producers in Japan since the early nineties.
Projects include both European and US studio projects.
Map of the Sounds of Tokyo and Enter the Void among others.
Television productions include Girls (Japan Episodes), Mozart in the Jungle (Japan Episodes), Giri/Haji and more recently for Apple+ all ten episodes of SUNNY.
In spring of 2023 Georgina set up TOHO Tombo Pictures Inc., a partnership with Toho Company to serve international projects shooting in Japan. Recent projects include The Smashing Machine and Marty Supreme as well as Monarch and Prodigies.

Japan on Screen: Incentives and Insights for Global Storytellers (followed by networking)
In Japan, the location incentive program began in 2023 as a project of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Sixteen productions have been selected to receive this grant over the past three years. Before this incentive program, there was also a pilot project by the Cabinet Office to measure the effectiveness of location appeal for four years, starting in 2019. In this session, we will hear tips on location shooting (production) in Japan from local and international producers who have had experience shooting international films in Japan through these projects, focusing on films that Japan has supported.
