Neil runs UK Screen Alliance, the trade association for employers in the Post Production, Visual Effects (VFX) and Animation sectors in the UK. The prime purpose of the organisation is to provide advocacy for its 160+ member companies to the UK government, devolved and local government, arms-length bodies, and other key stakeholders. Priority issues include screen tax relief, funding, regulation , home grown skills, and access to international talent.
He takes a leading role as a member of the Creative Industries Council, where he chairs the CIC subgroup on technical education pathways. He participates in DfE’s Creative Advisory Group and takes a keen interest in apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, T Levels and other vocational education.
Neil is a member of the British Film Commission’s National Advisory Board, the BFI’s Task Force and the High-End TV Skills Council. He is a BAFTA member and is founding member and non-executive director of diversity and inclusion organisation, Access:VFX.
Prior to becoming the CEO of the UK Screen Alliance, he owned and ran post production companies for 20 years and worked as an editor in unscripted TV.
