About
From the first scout to the final schedule, seamless collaboration between film commissions and location professionals defines the efficiency of every production. This session explores how Filmmakers System uses supportive AI and structured digital workflows to make location management smarter, faster, and fully transparent— while ensuring users retain complete control.
Supported through the Creative Europe MEDIA framework, Filmmakers System is a Software-as-a-Service platform designed for film commissions and location scouts. It enables both to operate within one shared infrastructure: entire image catalogues can be uploaded and automatically organised into searchable, well-described locations, with categories and metadata generated directly from the pictures. Scouts keep full ownership and decide what is visible or private—an Airbnb-style model that promotes discoverability without exposing sensitive details.
For film commissions, the same technology powers a commission-branded database connected to their regional industry guide—simplifying promotion, routing production requests, and coordinating with local providers. For producers, automated script breakdowns extract and describe location needs, while intelligent matching tools suggest suitable options—linking creative vision, location data, and production logistics directly to the location scout.
In this session, Christiane Krone-Raab, head of Berlin Brandenburg Film Commission, Dr. David Zitzlsperger, lead architect of Filmmakers System, and Markus Bensch, internationally recognised location expert and Vice President of Berlin Production Group, provide a hands-on demonstration of Filmmakers System and discuss how technology strengthens collaboration without replacing creative expertise.
By improving cooperation, process efficiency, data quality, and regional visibility, Filmmakers System strengthens autonomy of film commissions and location professionals.
