Denise Parkinson is an industry pro who has worked in all aspects of Entertainment/Media marketing and sales for over 35 years. Originally from Canada where she worked in theatre and marketing and then starting her career in London at the legendary independent production and distribution company Palace Pictures in marketing. Denise has gone on to build a career that has included Artificial Eye/Curzon as Marketing Director for theatrical and home entertainment, followed by 11 years at Bauer Media as the Head of Entertainment creating events, partnerships and media first advertising across a massive UK portfolio including online, radio, tv, magazines (Empire). Denise was responsible for building relationships in the entertainment industry and growing the sector to new heights in awareness, activations and revenue. Denise then went on to be marketing director of Disney/ABC/ESPN based in London and Overseeing marketing team responsible Southern Europe, Middle East, Africa, CEE contributing to Disney's $2bn international TV distribution business. Achievements included running successful conferences at MIPCOM/MIPTV and festivals including Cannes, Rome and Monte Carlo and tours to broadcasters and clients in key markets Denise also sat on the anti-piracy task force committee for Disney. Denise went on to work for Yahoo! as the Head of Global Entertainment Yahoo! had 687,000,000 users around the globe. Working in media first global digital content deals bringing in increased revenue, new relationships, and massive digital events across the global platforms of Yahoo! Including major activations like the global live streaming of the last Harry Potter World Premiere across the entire platform with exclusive coverage. Denise then went on to work for The Telegraph Media brand for 5 years as Global Head of Entertainment where she helped create the entertainment digital strategy which included strategic film and streaming partnerships including many media firsts and increasing revenue significantly. Denise followed this with a role at One Football, the number one Football app in the world. This included media first activations for Universal, WBD and Disney. Denise currently serves as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the number one Entertainment brand in the world - Variety. Denise is also a Producer (Krows Transformation) and panel host as well as a long-standing BAFTA member and Vice Patron of the Film and TV Charity. Denise is also a non-executive director of London's oldest cinema, the Regent Street Cinema (est 1848). Most recently a patron and Non-Executive of the TVE Global Sustainability Awards in Film.
