Dame Pippa Harris DBE is an Oscar-nominated, BAFTA award-winning, film and television producer, who established Neal Street Productions in 2003 alongside Sam Mendes and Caro Newling.

Since the formation of Neal Street, Pippa has produced the multi award-winning First World War epic, 1917, as well as Empire of Light, Starter for Ten, Stuart A Life Backwards, and co-produced Jarhead.  She also executive produced Things We Lost in the Fire, Away We Go and the Oscar-nominated Revolutionary Road, as well as the feature documentaries We Are Many and What They Found.

Pippa’s upcoming film projects include Hamnet, based on the bestselling novel by Maggie O’Farrell, directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, as well as an adaptation of Enid Blyton’s children’s classic The Magic Faraway Tree written by Simon Farnaby and starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. In addition, Pippa is producing The Beatles project for Sony; four movies - one on each of the Beatles, starring Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn, which will be directed by Sam Mendes.

Pippa’s TV work also includes the hugely successful BBC series Call the Midwife which she has executive produced for the past 15 years, as well as Britannia, Penny Dreadful, The Hollow Crown, and The Franchise. Neal Street’s recent stage productions include the Tony award-winning The Lehman Trilogy, and the acclaimed productions of The Motive and The Cue, The Hills of California and The Fifth Step.

Following her tenure as Chair of BAFTA, Pippa is now their Vice President of Television. Pippa is also Chair of Charleston, a museum and gallery which was home of the Bloomsbury group. Development to Post: Pippa Harris on the Making of Hamnet and The Magic Faraway Tree

Exclusive to CO:LAB Passholders

Only available to CO:LAB Pass holders, an exclusive conversation between Adrian Wootton OBE and leading producer Pippa Harris DBE to discuss two of her upcoming films, Hamnet and The Magic Faraway Tree.

The session will look at the independent sector and working with international investment on dramas with an ‘indie’ heart and soul.

Hamnet (releasing 9 January 2026) is a great expression of independent vision and storytelling. Seen as an ‘indie-style drama’ production, it combined international financing and investment with distinctive ‘auteur’ direction and vision. The Magic Faraway Tree (set for release 27 March 2026), is drawn from a much-loved children’s classic and was independently funded, with all the challenges that entails.

The session will tease out the elements from both that speak to film-makers at all stages, including acquiring rights, financing, working with auteur directors as well as the wide range of financiers, inward investment and independent finance and funding. Pippa and Adrian will look at how the UK’s, and other territories’, tax credits were used to knit together the finance packages, and they’ll talk about the experience of working across countries, from the US to Malta to back home in the UK.
In association with British Film Commission.

This session is part of the CO:LAB Pass. More information HERE.
