Katherine Nash is the Head of Studios at The Bottle Yard, leading on all commercial operations at the award-winning studio facility that offers 11 stages over two sites (TBY1 and TBY2).
Starting out in the field of locations for High End TV drama production across the South West, Katherine moved into studio operations in 2011 as the Bottle Yard’s first Studio Coordinator. Ascending through the ranks, Katherine was appointed Head of Studios in 2025, bringing 15 years’ specialist knowledge and insight to the role.
As Business Operations Manager (2020-2025), Katherine played an integral role in the design and delivery of The Bottle Yard’s £12m TBY2 facility which opened in 2022, adding three soundstages to the Studio’s overall portfolio. This expansion significantly elevated Bristol’s profile in the UK film/TV industry, cementing its position as one of seven key UK production hubs.
As Sustainability Lead, Katherine established The Bottle Yard’s Sustainability Strategy which has led to global industry recognition for the Studios - not least due to TBY2’s 1MW community-owned rooftop solar array, which won the 2023 Global Production Award for Best Sustainability Initiative at Cannes Film Festival. In 2025, TBY2 was the highest performing studio in BAFTA albert/Arup’s global Studio Sustainability Standard, achieving ‘Outstanding’ alongside TBY1’s ‘Excellent’ rating.
The Bottle Yard Studios were shortlisted for Studio of the Year at the 2025 Global Production Awards in Cannes. The Studios are also a core delivery partner for the BFI-funded regional skills package All Set West, nominated for Best Industry Skills Initiative by the 2025 Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards.
