Creative England's Filming in England Showcases Industry Momentum at FOCUS London 2025
As the screen industry prepares to gather once again for
FOCUS London 2025, Creative England's
Filming in England team arrives with a year’s worth of momentum and milestones. The organisation, which serves as the national champion for filming outside London, has seen significant growth across its partnerships, industry engagement and project support over the past 12 months.
This year’s FOCUS attendees will have plenty to discover at the
Filming in England lounge. With England hosting some of the world’s most high-profile productions, the team plans to showcase how delegates can tap into the country’s exceptional locations, crew, and studio infrastructure.
“From 28 Years Later to Frankenstein, F1 and Wicked, England has hosted some of the biggest productions in recent years,”
Hayley Armstrong,
Head of Production Services at
Filming in England notes.
Visitors will also meet five Film Office Partners —
Hertfordshire Film Office, Kent Film Office, Surrey Film Office, Screen Somerset and
Norfolk Screen — present in the Filming in England lounge. Their presence gives industry professionals direct access to regional experts who understand the unique strengths and opportunities within their areas.
“Over the past year, the Filming in England team have been busy supporting some incredible upcoming high-end TV and feature film productions,” Armstrong comments, adding that the organisation also “united over 600 film and TV professionals at our Industry Mixer events and celebrated reaching over 300 members of our Filming in England Partnership.”
In true community-building spirit, Filming in England is also bringing back its popular networking sessions, announcing that “we’re running two
Location Manager Cheese and Wine Networking Hours from 2–3pm each day.”
“Our team loves coming to FOCUS each December to connect with our valued partners, alongside meeting new location owners, suppliers and Location Managers,” Armstrong says. “It’s inspiring being in a room full of the people supporting production across the UK and internationally.” For Filming in England, the event is as much about celebrating the existing community as it is about cultivating new collaborations.
The organisation is also energised by current industry trends, particularly the rise of regional storytelling. “We're excited to see an uplift in regional storytelling,” Armstrong explains, citing standout recent productions that showcase England’s creative range. “Some of the most talked-about films and TV series have filmed right here in the English regions: from
Adolescence in Yorkshire to
Wicked Part Two in Hertfordshire,
Rivals in the South West,
Toxic Town in the North West and
Peaky Blinders returning for a feature film in the West Midlands.” England’s crew base, they add, “are working on some of the most cutting-edge productions worldwide, and we're proud to be a part of it.”
With major productions underway across the regions, a deeply engaged industry network, and an expanded national partnership base, Filming in England enters FOCUS London 2025 as a strong, unifying force, ready to champion the places and people who help bring stories to life across the country.
