As book adaptations continue their extraordinary success across film and streaming platforms, BooksOffice is opening a new path for producers to discover the latest and best Indie talent with stories primed and ready for adaptation.
BooksOffice is presenting AMPlify – Author Meets Producer Presentation and Pitch Sessions – a brand new initiative at UK's leading expo for the creative screen industries FOCUS. This initiative will bring talented, undiscovered writers with great storytelling ability directly to the attention of producers.
Leading up to the event, authors from across the world will submit their books to the AMPlify call out and BooksOffice audience and experts will be selecting the TOP entries to pitch to FOCUS delegates.
The huge growth in books over the last decade means there are now over 30million titles on Amazon. Self-publishing is booming and there are now more financially successful authors than in the traditional publishing sector - and most of them are unrepresented, meaning there's a rich seam of valuable IP that has no clear route from book to screen. Until now.
BooksOffice was developed to find the best in indie writing talent. Through a combination of industry curation and audience participation, Booksoffice is mining for the book to screen stars of the future. In a recent Crime Series project, 20 brilliant authors were discovered who between them have sold over 500,000 books - all waiting for the chance to bring their stories to life.
BooksOffice is delighted to partner with FOCUS for the latest initiative AMPlify. FOCUS returns to the Business Design Centre London on 10/11 December 2024 for its tenth edition. It is the only UK trade event where attendees can meet with content makers and facilitators from over 100 countries, attracting thousands of professionals from across the creative screen industries. Embracing the convergence of all the screen sectors, – including film, TV, advertising, animation and games - FOCUS offers attendees valuable contacts, a packed session programme, facilitated meetings and a host of networking events.
"FOCUS represents a fantastic opportunity for our authors," says BooksOffice CEO Elaine Sturgess, "It's an extraordinary event, by far the best and most effective way to meet industry leading producers in the UK. FOCUS has built a reputation as THE place to meet the Makers and we're excited to launch BooksOffice new initiative here. It's going to be a highly competitive few months finding the very best stories to put under the spotlight in December."
“We are thrilled to partner with BooksOffice for this exciting new initiative,” says FOCUS Commercial Director Clara Le. “FOCUS is all about facilitating interesting and fruitful screen industry connections and it is very gratifying to bring BooksOffice writers into the heart of this networking".
