MARKETING ASSISTANT (Freelance)
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Marketing Assistant to support the Director of Marketing & Communications. This is a freelance temporary role from August/September - mid December. The FOCUS team mainly work remotely, but candidates should be available to work onsite in London during the event dates and for key preparation days, including occasional early starts or late finishes as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general FOCUS enquiries and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Manage delegate registrations, approvals process, onboarding communications and event-related enquiries.
- Maintain and update marketing databases and contact lists using Campaign Monitor.
- Research and build targeted marketing lists, including VIP producers and industry contacts.
- Coordinate guest lists, invitations and RSVPs for networking events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in marketing, events or communications, ideally within the creative screen industries.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with partners, attendees, and internal teams.
- Experience using email marketing platforms (Campaign Monitor or similar) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Experience using event platforms, CRM systems or content management tools is preferrred.

CONFERENCE ASSISTANT (Freelance)
We are seeking a Conference Assistant to support the Head of Content. This is a freelance temporary role from August/September - mid December. The FOCUS team mainly work remotely, but candidates should be available to work onsite in London during the event dates and for key preparation days, including occasional early starts or late finishes as required.
The role involves coordinating the planning and delivery of conference sessions, including supporting speaker invitations, session scheduling, and session logistics. The Conference Coordinator will liaise with partners, moderators and speakers, ensuring clear communication, timely information sharing, and a positive experience for all participants. Responsibilities include sourcing speaker assets, maintaining accurate records and databases, preparing event materials, and supporting on-site AV and room management during the event. The role also involves collaborating with the wider event team to support marketing timelines, track deliverables, and help ensure that the conference runs smoothly from pre-production through post-event follow-up.
Qualifications
- Strong conference coordination skills, with experience supporting multi-session or multi-day events, ideally within the creative screen industries.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with speakers and partners
- Proven event planning experience, ideally within conferences, trade shows, or industry gatherings.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with common digital tools (e.g., email platforms, Excel spreadsheets, project management or CRM systems).
- Ability to work collaboratively and to remain calm and solution-focused during live event operations.
